The barbeque event in 2008 is going to be even better than 2007. More teams, tougher competition and a lot more fun. We're looking forward to being a part of this event once again.
Oh You Bet Much Bigger and the Peoples Choice will last longer
So you folks will get to sample Championship BBQ for yourselves

Make sure you all come out and try the food from AZBarbeque. We really enjoyed our experience out there last year and look forward to it once again in 2008..

Heck, Thom & Kyle's Bubba Q purchased most of them for their team lunch last year. It's that special Arizona Flavor...

Rumor has it that we'll be doing IBCA 4 meat on Saturday and KCBS 4 meat on Sunday. Sounds like a barbeque endurance competition is in our future.

I'm vegetarian. It would be nice to have at least ONE option to eat.
Not just a salad and also for those of you who don't know, vegetarian doesn't have to mean "healthy organic no flavor" stuff. I don't know where the mix up is but I don't want whole wheat raw seed dirt just because I don't eat cow or chicken or pork. lol

Hmmmm, I gotta go with ribs, but I can not turn away from Brisket, Pulled Pork, or a beautifully prepared chicken (or turkey for that matter) either.
Just give me a heaping plate of it all alongside a cold one and I'm good!

Also, why do vegitarians eat stuff in the shape of meat (veggie burgers, tofurkey, etc)? You know you want to eat meat.

Now that I know about this competition, I guess I'll have to eat it all.

I once competed next to a team that presented smoked marlin for a People's Choice event.
It was good too!
Lots of great BBQ at this event in 2008
We will have 50 plus teams this year

Your RV is inside the Festival
Simple cook of 4 meats
We have a couple of
small contests coming up where
a group could learn the ropes
One in Palm Desert and one in Anaheim
For $550 entry you get 6 tickets and a RV space
You BBQ the 4 meats Saturday and the again on
Sunday Pork Shoulder or Butt end Cut , Beef Brisket, Pork Ribs, Chicken

Is it something that each competitor sells you lunch after the competition is over?

The People's Choice is you purchase taste tickets for $2/ticket, then take those tickets to whichever BBQ Competitor who's food you wish to taste and trade the ticket for a sample of BBQ. You can purchase as many taste tickets as you want, so come try them all out..

I didn't want to look... I was hoping that some of the people competing already knew the cost...
I'll wait to see if someone knows, or wait until I get to stagecoach.

For the taste tickets, the cost is $20 for a book of 10 taste tickets and 1 vote ticket.
You then take your taste tickets to whichever BBQ Competitor who's food you want to taste and give them one ticket. They will then give you a 2 oz sample of BBQ, it could be anything from Brisket, Chicken Thighs, Pulled Chicken, Pulled Pork, Ribs, Hot Wings, Salsa, Chili, etc.
Then, when you find the one BBQ Competitor who's food you liked the best (AZBarbeque of course), you give the the 1 vote ticket. Which ever BBQ Team has the most vote tickets at the end of each day, wins the People's Choice contest.
Make sure to come by and see us at the AZBarbeque booth, we will have some great BBQ for everyone to taste.
