check out the onsite camping page (http://stagecoachfestival.com/visitors/onsite-camping) and read about all the stuff for 2008. There have been a lot a lot a lot of improvements.

Talk about it here. :p

start a new thread if you need to.

Hello. I didn't attend last year, so I am a little confused!! On the camping site is shows you have to pay for an RV spot and a camping ticket (per person). Is this on top of purchasing, say, a Gold or Reserved ticket?

Thanks!!

Countrygurl
11-09-2007, 08:59 AM
yes. camping tickets are separate from festival tickets.

Nonny

I heard last year they let you save a spot for a friends RV only if you gave the first RV that entered the campground your camping ticket. The first RV would then check you in and reserve a spot next to them. The website says you cannot save spots, but last year it said the same thing and people were doing it.

Can you check in for somebody who is physically not there or do you need an actual (physical) RV to check in?

Also what time do the tickets go on sale on 11/16/07?

Countrygurl
11-09-2007, 02:36 PM
10am is when tickets go on sale.

And this is what it says on the onsite camping page:

Can we/How can we camp next to each other if we are not arriving together?
We're sorry but there are no saving spots for friends. You should travel together and arrive together to be placed near each other.

Thanks..... i will make sure I will be online at 10am! I have a feeling they will sell out on the RV hookup spots quickly!

I am thinking of buying a rv parking pass and it will be my husband and I, do I have to then buy 2 camping tickets on top of the rv parking or does the rv include 1 camper, meaning I would only have to purchase 1 extra camping pass?

Countrygurl
11-10-2007, 03:47 PM
each person camping needs a camping pass.

hillbillyRockstar
11-13-2007, 12:46 PM
Are the electrical hookups the standard kind all campgrounds have? Also, are the hookups an additionall charge (150 plus the 100 RV fee for a total of 250) or is there just one fee for the space + hookups = 150? The camping page is not clear on this.

Countrygurl
11-13-2007, 12:47 PM
can you guys help me word it better?

Camping Ticket (per person) $50 <--- every person camping needs one of these
+
Per RV (1 steering wheel) $100 <--- you need one of these for the RV
+
30 amp Electrical Hook Up $150 <--- you need this if you want electrical hook up too

hillbillyRockstar
11-13-2007, 01:01 PM
Here is a good way to word it:

Camping Ticket (mandatory per person over 14 years) $50
Per RV (1 steering wheel, no electrical hookups) $100
Per RV (1 steering wheel, with electrical hookups) $250

Countrygurl
11-13-2007, 01:08 PM
electrical is it's own item that cost $150..

so how about

Camping Ticket (mandatory per person over 14 years) $50
Per RV (1 steering wheel, no electrical hookups) $100
electrical hookup $150

??

thanks for the help.. trying to see if I can get it re-worded. :)

hillbillyRockstar
11-13-2007, 01:33 PM
Maybe it is just me, but that is still confusing to me :)

"electrical hookup $150" could either mean:
1 - the space plus electrical hookups
2 - just the hookup itself.

I know it is #2, but before this discussion I thought it was #1

Countrygurl
11-13-2007, 01:40 PM
yes thank you for showing that.

now it says this:

Camping Ticket (mandatory per person over age 14) $50 <--- every person camping needs one of these
Per RV (1 steering wheel) $100 <--- you ALSO need one of these for the RV
30 amp Electrical Hook Up $150 <--- this is an additional cost if you would like electrical hookups

hillbillyRockstar
11-13-2007, 01:41 PM

Can anyone help clear up my confusion over two vehicles? We have a travel trailer and I'm trying to figure out if I need to pay the extra $75.00 for my Expedition I tow it with.

jenmonkee

If it is being towed behind, then yes you need to buy that extra ticket, however, there is a parking lot that is free if you want to put it there.

NO!:D

I thought the same thing because of the wording on the Website and bought the 75.00 Tow Vehicle Ticket  but what they call a Tow Vehicle is actually a TOWED vehicle- like behind a Class A RV.

Your Truck and Trailer is covered by the 100.00 bucks:)

My understanding is that no Alcohol (not even beer) is allowed to be brought into the RV area. It is available for purchase once you are in the place (for extemely reasonable prices, I'm sure :( )

Is this correct??

The drinks were flowing the minute we drove it!! NO one was hiding it at all. In fact the promotor came over to our camp and chatted with us, we had the wine on the table for dinner, beers and vodka tonics. Just put them in a plastic cup, dont walk around with the bottle.

But also last year they allowed BBQ's at the last minute. We heard it on the radio as we were driving in and stopped to pick up some steaks.

The promotor also told us there may be campfires if you have the raised type tubs to put it in. I have not heard official word, but like I said it can change at the last minute

Relax..we worried tooo much about all of this, only to pull in and there was NOTHING to worry about!!!

Kymery
11-27-2007, 08:16 PM
oh, one problem we DID have is this.

We pull our 37' 5th wheel in with our truck. We were told we had to take our truck all the way over to the "general" parking area and park it there for the weekend. I refused!! I made my truck into the jackknife position in order to keep it there. Why should I have to park my truck in general parking where I cant watch it being broke into when I just paid over $200 to have my parking spot!! That irked me. I had to go to the hire ups to get the monkeys (ok I know, they were just doing their job) off of our back.

This year will be no diff for me. I just had back surgery, No I did not get a handicapped plate, although that might be a good idea, but I will not park my truck 1/2 a mile away and walk back to my rig!! Besided I want to camp in the "party area" (which I think is cool they did this this time) but unfortuntatly the Party area is the furthest away from the entrance of the concert...those trams better be running full speed. I got so many blisters last year walking. I was one of the first to get there and parked furthest away...only good thing it was close to the clubhouse party.:D

WAIT,,WAIT...WAIT...So if you drive an RV it is only $50, but if you tow your 5th wheel in you have to pay $100 ($50 for the 5th wheel and $50 for the truck) and if you look at the map its shows "free tow vehicle parking" This makes NO SENSE WHATSOEVER!! I would bet that the "tow vehicle is the RV's that are towing in a spare vehicle = TWO steering wheels=two charges.

Maybe I wont be going after all.

Last year this conversation was also an issue and we ended up only having to buy the $50 RV permit and two $50 per person RV camping tickets, plus the two concert tickets. Toooo much confusion.

No-

Eldorado 1 = $100.00 for Truck with a 5th Wheel or Travel Trailer

Eldorado 2 = $50.00 for Truck with a 5th Wheel or Travel Trailer

Yes the map with the TOW VEHICLE label is the wrong wording:)

Broccoli1

Types of tickets available for EL DORADO 2:
Camping Ticket (per person) $50 <--- every person camping needs one of these
Per RV (1 steering wheel) $50 <--- you need one of these for the RV
Tow Vehicle $50
A tow vehicle (steering wheel and motor) as an extra vehicle being towed behind... Not pulling. It can be parked for FREE in the tow vehicle parking lot.

Hmmm...I read it the same way. $50 for your RV(5th Wheel) and $50 for your truck. The wording is a little funky and I can understand how one can get confused. Maybe they can re-word it to say something along the lines of this:

Tow Vehicle $50 <--- A tow vehicle (steering wheel and motor) as an extra vehicle being towed behind.

Vehicle's pulling an RV can park for FREE in the tow vehicle parking lot.

**just a suggestion :)

Confusion yes:D as the Vehicle pulling a RV-Trailer can park in the Camping area as the price includes this vehicle.

Any vehicle being PULLED is an additional charge:)

Last year, we had our 5th wheel and truck and we weren't ever asked to park our truck elsewhere. It stayed in our site.

Also, something to remember to all the RV'ers. Come in with your water tanks full. There are no water hook-ups!! There is a water truck that will come around, or there was last year, but he's so busy he didn't get to everyone. You really have to conserve your water over the 3 or 4 days.

There was a truck that would come and drain your grey/blackwater tanks too, but that was expensive, $40.00 if I remember correctly.

Think 150 gallons fresh will do? 50 Grey & 50 Black- If we fill that up over the weekend someone needs to see a Dr.:D

Last year we were told to move the Trucks but it was filling up so quickly they had to move on to help with parking the Rigs but we had paid for the extra anyway and no one seemed to know exactly what was going on.

Anyone at the gate around 11pm? whoa boy it was CONFUSION there and some hot & bothered folks trying to get in.:o

Heck yea, 150 will do, that is what we have and we just spent Thanksgiving in Glamis, with 4 boys and us, with showers! Still had 1/2 tank left. We last a week during Christmas camping with that much water.

I also think we were asked to move our truck to do our trlr is 27' and with a long bed, crew cab they thought it was tooo long, so I just turned it sideways into the trailer pin, looked like it was jacknifed, but they let us go with that. (gave our camp more privacy also)

Is it okay to purchase camping wristbands up until the last minute? We have invited people to camp with us, but they don't know, yet, if they will be able to go and I don't want to wait much longer to buy our camping spot and wristbands. Are they just joining you in your RV,or pitching a tent in your RV spot?? Then they just need a camping pass (per person) and they can park their car in the parking lot. Last year with the camping pass, we got a parking pass (once we got there) and there was a designated lot for us. (not close, but we could park free for the whole weekend!) :D I am not affiliated with Stagecoach so the above is by no means "official", but I am just speaking from last year's experience. Hope it helps!! :D :D

I'm hoping Countrygurl can answer this for me. Please?

When I bought my tickets, I bought two camping passes, one for me and one for my daughter. She doesn't actually need one because she's under 14. My question is this; on the onsite camping page it says:

If I am TENT camping, what size tent can we bring/how much space do we get?
If you are not sharing a tent with anyone else, it may be as large as 8' x 8' (aprox. 64 square feet). If you are sharing a tent with other onsite campers your tent may take up an additional 8' x 8' (64 square feet) of space per person.

Does this mean my tent can be bigger than 8X8 since there are two of us and we have two camping wristbands? Or, being a minor, does she not count and we have to sardine it in a little, itty bitty tent?;)

Just curious, cause I can take the tent I picked up back and get a bigger one if we can do that.

I kinda wondered the same thing...but they do have to make money, and honestly...there are soooo many people that go just to hang out, play beer pong and party, and never even buy a ticket to the festival at all...they just party all weekend! So they gotta make some money off of them, but hey, I guess if they do give us two free tickets...then they would just raise the price of camping???

Well, I figured that I would bring back up this post back up this post for a very, very important reason.

I pull a 37' 5th wheel, on 3 axels, it weighs about 20k fully loaded with the toys. Now upon buying this beast, as with my other 3 axles haulers, I was not informed that I must have a NON-commercial Class A License.

A Noncommercial Class A license is required if you tow:

a triple axle
a travel trailer weighing over 10,000 lbs. Gross Vehicle Weight Rating
(GVWR) which is not used for hire.
a fifth-wheel travel trailer weighting over 15,000 lbs. GVWR which is not
used for hire.
a livestock trailer that is not for hire, weight over 10,000 lbs. GVWR but
not over 15,000 lbs. GVWR, and is operated within 150 miles of the farm
by a farmer to transport livestock.

I have been pulling my rig for over 7 years with no problems. About 4 years ago, Doug and I attempted, yes attempted to get this so called license. We made several calls to the DMV explaining that we heard we needed this license..they thought we mis-understood etc etc.. Finally we got appts to take the 1st of a 2 part test to received this license, passed the written with flying colors (wont even go into how the DMV office itself couldnt even find the test to give to us, thank goodness we kept on explaining that we knew we needed it).

Soooo...we then set up to do our behind the wheel test. That is a completely diff time/date. We show up with our rig and they then tell us they dont do that there! They still did not understand what we needed/wanted...so we gave up..OUR BAD.

Now, if you go to Glamis, Dumont, the river etc...be warned...THERE ARE CHECK POINTS now for this license! If you are a member of the ASA, please read the article in the Sept 2008 ASA newsletter, very informative.

So, I went to the DMV AGAIN, got my study book and will go AGAIN to take the written AGAIN and that will give me my "permit", then the only DMV in the area to do the behind the wheel is in San Bernardino, so I need to schedule that after I pass the written.

People..this is very serious and true. I guess for a while the cops were not worrying about issueing tickets but with all the huge haulers on the road, they want us all to be safe, so you MUST have this license. The book you need to get to study from the DMV is called "Recreational Vehicles and trailers Handbook"

As for the behind the wheel you will be asked to do the following:
Vehicle Inspection, visual, check all lights, brakes, horn etc
Pre-Trip Inspection: demonstrate your knowledge of al lyour tow vehicle and trailer features.
Check for wipers, windshield cracks, fluids, tires, psi, etc etc
Identify working parts of your hitch/coupling system.
Show your emergency equipmetn, charged fire extinguishier and 3 emergency triangles-reflective.
IF ANYTHING IS MISSING OR IN-OPERABLE...you must reschedule!!!!
Then it is the SKILLS test.
Stop at a pre-determined spot.
Back up in a straight line
Make a right turn witout hitting a cone (most difficult apparently)
Back up while turning your tig into a coned off zone that simulates a camping space
Have complete control of your truck and trailer, stop at every limit line
travel in correct lanes
Park against a curb
Merging onto freeway
Hand signals
and remember this one:
End up inthe correct lane AFTER a rigth turn in ON FLUID MOVEMENT (dont make a right turn, end up on the left lane then use blinker to get back into right lane) you must turn right, and keep control of that right lane so no one passes you. I know this is tuff for us long trailers! But dont say I didnt warn you.

Anyway here is the dmv website to help you, click on the "additional Info" at the bottom of the page for all requirements etc.

GOOOOOD LUCK!!!:D

Kymery thanks for all the info. Hopefully they wont require a new license for Class A. That test does not sound like fun.

So asking again if anyone remembers the cost for the camping, either hooked up or not.

Thanks

only once... some of my mommy friends and I had a mommies night out there a few months ago... we would love to go more often but never seem to make it... which is sad since I can literally walk there! the joys of having a 2 yr old and a 4 yr old... we just don't get out much anymore!

what's OC tavern? do tell....!

well, I've not been there, yet...it's a bit far for me during the week so kbug would know first hand about the "atmosphere". however I have a group of friends that llike it and go when they can, but they live in so county. I do know the "kelly boyz" who dance there... and teach on Tuesday. They hang out and dance at Tia Juanas, which is a bit closer for me. Might be a fun meeting place some time in the near future for those of us "up here" to meet up again with those of you "down there" !!

It is a restaurant down here in San Clemente that has a seperate room for bands to play. They always have concerts going on there. We went to see Cash'd Out which is this awesome Johnny Cash cover band. Check out their website at www.octavern.com. It is a great place to see a concert!
