'kay, I'll jump into this thread! We'll be coming from Seattle. This lineup sounds just fantastic, but I confess, it was seeing the name of my main man, Earl Scruggs, that sold me on the show! I am a banjo-lovin' girl, and nobody does it like Earl! :)

I was born in Oregon, and I'm afraid of horses. I like alt-country, I'm a fan of Woody Guthrie songs, and wish I knew how to pick like Ricky Skaggs.

Hello. I'm Phil I'm from the UK and I'm coming to Country Fest because I want to meet some country girls in real life. I'll be in the area, so I may as well come along!! I don't really listen to Country Music, I've got a Johnny Cash CD, and a Dolly Parton one, but my mum has a gazillion of them.

I know this isn't a great reason for coming, but it's the best one I could think of. And I'm a sucker for southern accents.

Is it compulsory to wear a stetson? and can I wear spurs too?

Vee
01-18-2007, 06:52 PM
Hi, Vee here from Phoenix. I can't wait to attend this festival, excited to see Sugarland and Brooks and Dunn. I love Eric Church as well.

I haven't introduced myself yet! My name is Michelle and my husband and I are driving down from Lynden, WA. I'm SOOOOOOOO jealous!!! Wish I could afford that. I almost went on the Kenny Chesney cruise last year.

I heard u didn't miss much. I've seen Kenny 3 times & heard that a lot of people were disappointed with Kenny in the Bahama's. They thought he was hung over. Maybe he had too much Rum & diet? :p

We also went to the CMA's in NY, that was the coolest!! It was a 3 hr concert.. I got to meet Trace Adkins which was cool.

The theater on the ship that Tim is performing in only holds 1400 people! that'll be a small concert. We can't wait.! :D

01-23-2007, 12:00 PM
We're transplanted Texans living in Orange County, CA. Although there are a handful of good country bands out here, not enough to get our fix. SO... we had to form our own country music dance band to hear what we like as often as we like! http://www.redhotroosters.com. And WHAT we like is all over this lineup! The whole band is shutting down for the Stagecoach Festival weekend. We've all bought our tickets and currently pricing (debating) RV camping vs. being part of the motel militia. Either way, we're excited about the festival and really looking forward to this event! Hope to meet some of ya'll there.

:D Hey there everyone! I have not yet purchased tickets but my Best Friend and I are really planning. The line up sounds amazing. We are hoping to camp in tents on site from Friday to Sunday night. Anyone else out there thinking to camp? Sounds like it will be a major party is you ask me. I would love to meet some country men. This is going to be like going on a trip with awesome music. I can not wait. I am coming from the Hollywood area that Friday evening if anyone want to carpool!? PS. I am a 26/ female. Any other young singles out there in the LA area? Cheers, Erin

My wife and I were fortunate enough to get great VIP tickets through the Kenny fan club, we will be part of tent city!! Hope to make some new friends who appreciate country music as we do. I almost wrecked my truck when I heard the announcement for this on the radio!!!!

Hi I'm Cici, my husband and I will be driving from Alhambra (approx. 1 1/2 hrs from Polo Field)....we'll be renting an RV.

Billifer, my husband and two children went to see Kenny at the Bahamas and it was awesome.....the people complaining were a bunch of whinners that didn't appreciate sittin in the sand. He played a full set and he even allowed his fans to video-tape (I taped the entire show thanks to Kenny). You're gonna have a incredible time at Tim's cruise....I wish we were going.....enjoy :) Anyhow, we are really excited and looking foward to meeting new freinds. See you all there!

Hi Pupgill, welcome to the Stagecoach message boards. You will find that most of us here welcome your views, and YOUR love for YOUR style of country music. Please don't be scared away by the few bad apples here that aren't secure enough to let other people freely express their views, without bad mouthing them or their choice of country music styles. I hope you enjoy it here, and hope to meet up with you and your mom at the festival to say hi. Welcome.

I'm coming from about 10 miles away -- I live in Palm Desert... so at least I'll get to go home and sleep in my own bed each night! :D

I'm looking forward to seeing EVERYONE that I can manage to see. I'm a huge fan of all genres of music - so a country music festival, especially since it's 10 minutes away from my house - sounded like a lot of fun!!! George Strait is DA MAN!!!!!

Hi all, I'm Bev and will be going with a group from Orange County, San Diego, and Riverside. We will have two RV's between us and we all love all kinds of country music.

We crank it up while floating down the Colorado River in the summer and sitting by the camp fire in Glamis in the cooler months.

Most recent saw Brooks and Dunn along with Sugarland at the Coors amphitheater in San Diego last Oct. Great Show.

I agree Sugarland rocks, but so did the whole show.

I look forward to seeing as many performers as I can and partying with the crowd. I think it will be kick a$$ fun.

The weekend following the festival I will be going to Nashville, hang out at Broadway and 5th honky-tonks and taking in the Country Music Hall of Fame.

Hello All!!

We're back from the Country Cruise Getaway. We had a great time, but sorry to say Tim McGraw was not so good.! A lot of people complained about his performance and some people left in the middle. It was pretty disappointing.

On the other hand Chris Cagel WAS SO AWESOME!! Him and Neil McCoy walked around like regular guys.. I'm definately a big Chris Cagel fan now! He signed autographs & took photos for hours and his concert was a lot of fun!

All that to say, I'd definately go back next year because all the extra's made up for Tim McGraws disappointing performance.

=)

My wife and I can hardly wait to see many of the performers. She is most interest in Kenny of course. I really want to see George, & Brooks & Dunn.

I'd love to see them add Josh Turner, Brad Pailsey, Buddy Jewel, and Gretchen Wilson.

We're coming from Santa Maria which is real close to where sugarready will be coming from.

Hi everyone, and thanks for sharing about yourselves! I'm Pam, and my boyfriend and I are packing up our home in Montana and going full time RVing. Stagecoach is our first stop.

We have an eclectic taste in music, can't wait to experience the likes of Cowboy Nation and Railbenders, Del McCoury, etc...........but we are also looking forward to some of the more traditional artists.

After the festival we are going to Memphis in May, the world barbeque competition. Then to the Bean Blossom Festival (Bill Munroe's bluegrass festival), Rock-Fest in Cadott, WI and the big airshow in OshKosh, with many stops in between to see friends, hit breweries and watch sporting events.

Can't wait to meet some or all of you if we get the chance. Safe travels to all!

This is Jeff and Jen. We are coming from Huntington Beach, California. Soo excited. We will be doing the camping thing. I just looked at all of the pre-fun stuff for Friday night before the true party begins! Sounds like fun.. Nothing like a few days of fun w/out the kids (no offense to the parents bringing kids). I'm Caliredneck and I'll be comming from the L.B.C. It's not easy being a cowboy in the ghetto. My friends tell me that my Confederat belt buckle alone will someday get me shot in this neighborhood.
I've seen most of the newer bands in the past few years. I have'nt seen Willi since I was just a pup so I'm really looking forward to see him. I don't do drugs, but I would really love to go back stage and burn one with him. That would be something I could proudly tell my grandchildren.

:D Hi: I'm djboles. I have tickets for 2 both on Saturday 5/5 and Sunday 5/6. Due to a family emergency I will need to travel to the east coast. Therefore, I will not be able to attend the festival (Ugh!) which I have been looking forward to for months. If you know of anyone interested in purchasing my tickets, I will sell them for $300.00 total for both tickets/both days! I paid almost $400.00 when I initially bought them. I need at least $300.00 to repay money borrowed to attend the east coast. I will not be available via e-mail or at this site. If you are interested, contact me at: (209) 838-6229. THIS IS NO JOKE!

Hi,

I'm from the Central Coast area. My husband and I (middle age) attended last year with our son & daugher (twenties). We all had a fantastic time and can't wait for Stagecoach 2008.

The lineup is unbelievable and it looks like the promoters have worked out a few of the kinks from last year.

We had reserved seating last year and hope to get them again this year but I'm sure they'll be even harder to obtain now that everyone knows what a great festival this is.

See you there!

Okay, so... My little girls and I are the biggest country fans!! Last year I was fortunate enough to WIN my tickets from KFrog's Hoppy & Toady's listener of the day. (That made my year!) I didn't know if it would be a good idea to bring a 3 and 4 year old to the concert... didn't know how rowdy it would get. But after experiencing such a pleasant atmosphere, my husband and I WILL be bringing them this year. And OMG are they STOKED!!! They'll be walking around the house with their pink 6 strings singing all their favorite songs "practicing" so they can sing with the artists! lol! I was fortunate enough last year to also get to meet Sugarland (Christian & Jennifer) and that was awesome!! They signed a cd for my girls.

If you didn't go last year, buy your tickets as soon as they go on sale!! Don't wait! It is worth EVERY PENNY!!!!!!:D

Hi, my name isn't really Ike.. I guess you could call it a stage name.

I'm really more into bluegrass/roots music/classic country more than modern country/country pop, just because the old stuff is what I grew up with.

I think the 2008 lineup looks great- impressed by the Judds reunion. If Alison Krauss were on the poster it would be perfect- but maybe that's too perfect.

Hi I'm Grissem.

I went to the festival last year and had a blast with my buddies. We weren't sure what to expect. I read a few message boards but this is the first one I'm talking on. I can't wait for next year!

Hi, I'm usually on at countryboards.com, but came over here since I won tickets to Stagecoach from Go Country 105.

I like Kenny Chesney, Tim McGraw, Toby Keith, George Strait, Garth Brooks, and Jason Aldean. Those are my top favorites. Oh no, I left out so many. I like Gary Allan, Craig Morgan, Brad Paisley...Ok, so you get the point. I like the bands in-between traditional and super-pops. I don't like Rascal Flatts and Big N Rich as much (though I do like them still, but not as much as the others I mentioned).

I'll be coming to Stagecoach for the first time (couldn't last year), and hopefully it will be the blast it looks to be!

Hello everyone!!! We would like to invite all of you guys to come over to Papa's Smokehouse BBQ during Stagecoach this year...we will be located at the Stagecoach Invitational BBQ Cook Off area, on the NE corner of the event. We'll be open 3pm on Friday, Noon on Saturday and Sunday. We'll be selling full plates of food.... Ribs, (we won People's Choice for Ribs at last year's Stagecoach), Pulled Pork, and Beef Brisket (yes, it's more tender than tri-tip) Sandwiches for $10.00 and we include coleslaw and baked beans for free with your meal!!! We're hoping you guys come on by and see us, you can't miss us...we are the "big yellow trailer". There will be a lot of other choices for you to buy BBQ, and during the People's Choice (12p-5p)you can buy tickets to "sample" BBQ, then you get to cast your vote for the best BBQ at the event.....but rest assured, as far as feeding you guys...we'll be open and never run out of food!! We didn't run out last year, either! We are in a better spot, so you can't miss us!!! See you at Stagecoach!!

I respect you wanted to let us know about your BBQ and all, but there is a post for that, and some of us get emails when there is a new post, and it takes so much time to open each thread just to read the same things.

Thank you...for letting me vent.

Hi..
I loved last year so much fun..
We just moved to the desert last may and what a great introduction...
Beware of the traffic re routing you miles away...
Wonder if the tack room bar on the grounds will be open?
Last year we only went during the night because it was hot and could not go in and out.
I live one block from the event and looking forward to the beautiful nights and great music.I'm a mother of two girls 25 and 12.We took the girls last year and someone gave us wrist bands to get to the VIP because they were leaving...
Oh what a great time..
You are all going to love the event. If anyone wants info on restaurant's or places for breakfast's close by let me know.Hopefully I can lead you in the right direction..
Hope to see you all there...

We have lots of great friends going ...Many with Motor Homes..

Can not wait to get the party started!!! I went last year with a couple of girlfriends and had an absolute blast. So many FINE cowboys to improve the scenery. We made up acronyms for the cowboys KYSO-Keep Your Shirt Off, TYSO-Take Your Shirt Off, PYSO Put Your Shirt On, and TYPO, which I will let you figure out.

This year we decided to camp to get the whole Stagecoach experience. There will be six of us girls camping in ED1. We are driving up on Friday from south Orange County. I hope there are still some good spots left. We will be the motorhome with the redneck golf game going on, so come on over and challange us to a game.

I'm so addicted....

I know..
I have to stop ..
I will never have enough Prints for my big event next week...
Between this and trying to win tickets.
I'm crazed..
I missed the secret location by 10 min.. this afternoon...
I admit I'm soooo compulsive when I get something in my head...

Should we have a group at SC that meets each morning like all additive groups?:D

Abra, do you think it would be worth it to see if someone has some camping wristbands for sale for cheep, especially if they need to unload them, then you can come early each day, and you are welcome to hang with us at our rig and make yourself at home, you can lock your stuff in there while you party at the Polo bar, or during the concert etc, then you can wonder around and really enjoy the weekend.

Then if you buy crud and need to put it away, you can take the shuttle to the rig and store it.

I promise it would be worth it! I have 2 a/c's in my rig...so promise you wont get hot!!

Just a thought. I know i would do it if I were in a hotel. Sheesh I would even offer part of my spot, pitch your tent, and if it really got that hot for you, you would sleep inside...hubby snores...but hey, drink another beer and you would never notice.

getting wristbands ahead of time is a good idea! think it'd be expensive?

you are so sweet to offer up your tricked out rig to me!!... but i gotta stick with my girlfriends since some are coming from a loooong way. it's a long weekend, with a lot of roaming, so i plan to break away and meet up with you guys several times.

well its $50 retail and I sure would think someone needs to dump some for a good price...I will keep my eye open.

But for $50 you could go tothe Polo bar on thurs, come early each day and hang out, and hang out after the concerts for a while, not a bad deal...like paying for a bar entry and tab.

Mine is 11 and driving me to distraction about seeing Taylor Swift. She actually had the nerve, the unmitigated gall, to suggest we could leave after she sees Taylor on Saturday.

I had to educate her on the fact that Big & Rich and Gretchen aren't on until Sunday and wild horses couldn't drag me away from there before I see my boy!

I'll be camping with my friend, Pam ("Punkie") and about 4 other rigs in our group. We'll be arriving Thursday nite around 6:00 pm. in a 30' Ragen toy hauler (husband parking it for us!) We'll be flying a yellow & black DMC Club flag. Everyone sounds so friendly and fun on the message board, just had to join in! We'll definitely look up Kymery who seems to be the "Country Queen!" I am a big fan of music of all kinds--love to dance--and am looking forward to getting my country music fix next weekend. PS Don't forget to drink water between the beers, vodka, and tequilla!:)
