View Full Version : $150.00 to re-enter EDII?????

Hey All,
Don't think we'll make the show if they want $150.00 to bring my truck back in EDII one time...
I drop my trailer off Thursday night and come back Friday for the weekend. $250.00 is plenty for 3 nights of dry camping and I won't pay another $150.00 to get my truck back in.
Ya'll have fun!!:D

You could park it for free in the tow vehicle lot.

Hey Countrygurl,
Yes I could. But I won't. They're just making it harder (cost of show) for some of us to attend. I got back in last year(guard at gate said "just take a right here and follow the fence around") luckily... Had a bed full of stuff to get to the trailer.
No reason for them to charge $150.00 for me to bring my truck back in 1 time and park it at my site. Once back, I'm there till Monday morning..

really? $150 to drive our car back to where it was originally? I'm not sure why there is such a fuss and a charge for having our own car parked at our site that our trailer or rv will already be? I can understand if the rules said no additional cars at the rv site, ok, then that means NO cars, for traffic concerns or safety issues etc...but to say yes you can have a car, but we're charging you a fee, a HEFTY fee for the privlege of bringing your car back in seems really odd. I'm scratching my head trying to understand the logic in this. We had this problem last year. Those of us in ADA were allowed out the gates, then not allowed back in. we tried explaining to the gate attendant we were in ADA for a reason- limited mobility. We explained we drove out with no advisement that we would not be allowed back in. we explained we needed to get back in to our site, even pointed to where we were. But they would not let us back in. Made no sense. If there was a continouous shuttle from the off site parking back to the RV areas, that would sure solve some hassles!!!

Yes, the $150 is ridiculous. You are complaining about paying $150 in addition to the $250 in EDII. What about the people that pay $850 for a sight (50 amp) and can't even have their vehicle in their spot and go in and out? I have a toyhauler and previously the "extraordinary" camping fee included 1 steering wheel per campsite and the ability to go in and out. We pull in and unhook our toyhauler, park our truck in our spot and only leave to go to the store every other day and only because I REFUSE to pay $10 for a bag of ice. This is a gimmick to get people to not come in and out, so if Goldenvoice wants that, then maybe they should "gouge" on the necessities like ice. PS, for all the newcomers, it was only $75 last year for a vehicle pass.

that's right i forgot about that. l guess ill be making ice in my freezer this year and taking more beer than a town can drink just to make sure i don't need to give them any more money than i must. you'd think in this economy they might make it affordable but that would make to much sens.

maybe they do it to cut down on vehicles constantly going in and out, lower the possibility of an accident occurring?

Hey Cooter,
Yes, that's a nice thought, but at $150.00 for a pass I think they do it for the money... I'll give 'em $10.00 for a one time return pass, but not $150.00...

Yeah, walking wasn't any safer. My friend fell over a trip line they had at the gate, apparently she was about the 19th person down that morning. NO one would cut it, so I pulled out my pocket knife and did it myself. It was that line they pulled to put in the fencing.
NOTE TO SC FENCE PLACER PUTTER PEOPLE; CUT STRING WHEN DONE!!!
Took an army to get SC attendants to even do something for her, she was pretty messed up from it.

I think people will still drive around just not leave I'm going to bring me jeep or my Harley like I did last year to go to the store. And if they don't let me back in I'll just throw it over the fence like last year.

Easier said than done. Many people come and drop their rigs off on Thurs night for a good spot and have to leave to go to work Friday or Saturday, and then they will have to pay $150 just to get their truck back to their spot. Usually with a load of stuff in it.
We had that issue in Handicap, Great it was close to entrance once at my rig, but when I need to get our stuff out of our cars we had to carry it and walk pretty far. So much for Handicap. Just some of these rules need to be re-visited.
Don't get me wrong, I don't want people driving all over the place either, but $150??? Come one, give us a pass for one free come n' go for loading and unloading. Especially for the handicap people. We don't even have to drive done a lane to get to our spots and they wouldn't let us in.

I think he has a point on this one but I do think they should let you leave and enter once. I mean come on I did pay 250 or 750 for a camp site that should get you some kinda special in and out once.

I get that people may want to drop off their RV for a good spot early, then come back. As much as that extra fee SUCKS, just put most everything in the rig before you drop it off. Same goes for those not going home for a night -- put all luggage, sleeping bags, etc in the RV, so you don't have to carry it from the parking lot to the RV.
If you need to leave to get ice, etc. you can still leave the free parking lot, right?

True, but have you carried bags of ice from that free lot to your RV, If you are fortunate enough you get parked bythe fence, but if not and you are on the far side, then forget it. Like I said for us ADA, Impossible to carry anyway with my back surgery....and I am the more fortunate of the ADA people. Defeats the purpose of the ADA people makeing them treck everything in from the free lot.
Also, people go shopping after they drop them of. But point is, we are paying $250-$850 and an in/out shouldnt be a problem, at least for one time to get back to your rig. There are tons and tons of people who drop them off early and have to work.
We allowed in/outs at WWF and there was never an issue.

I agree with having to leave to head back to work. I didnt miss work to make some extra cash to help pay for my amazing weekend, not to pay for parking to get back in. I think it should at least be free to come back in at a certain point. Make a time and if you dont want to pay for parking again then you have to be in by that time. I mean i guess its better then nothing. $150 blows no matter what but at least its giving people a chance. But all in all it sucks.

Oh definately....I agree, and if WWF ever got that big there would be changes also, just saying at any level, this is gonna be crazy to charge that much.
Countrygurl. Thousands more than that, and a million times smaller venue, just a small minor league Baseball venue...they didn't have the option to house the unlimited amount of fans as SC unfortunately, and I was glad for that..so no way to compare the two festivals. I wish SC was like it was the first year, where you can actually enjoy the concerts/artists and not just hang back 2 miles away and party. But then again, I do love a good party.:D Sc is now more know for the party than the artists.
Even Paul was selling the "biggest campground party" ever on the radio last week more than the artists. Yes the artists bring the masses, but the campgrounds were full even during the concerts with partiers who just came to camp and party and not go inside. All good!! That's why we all go anymore. We can afford the seats and you can't see anything, so we just win our tickets and enjoy the party.

I saw some of those being used this year. but cant see how you can carry stuff on it after your body takes up the whole area...unless you are only carrying drinks and then they were being checked for those at the gate when I saw them. But good idea
