Ok foke's just got done reading the web site and the way it reads you only get as many as you have tickets for when you check per the web site (Bring your ticket to check into the campground. Wristbands will be issued at that time.) probably to cut down on people selling there Wristbands. my question is what if you go out on Thursday and everyone else in your camp doesn't come till Friday how do they get wristbands? last year they ran out and stopped issuing them what do you do then?

Sounds to me like the tent camping is $100 per SPACE. And you can fit however many peeps you want. Just have to all check in together and have a show ticket.

So what about ED2? Do we get as many wristbands as well and then we can wander to see everyone in tents and ED1?

Kitty I find this hard to believe for SC! They sold out at $50per person for tent camping so no way would they say to fit anyone you can in a tent area for $100. I sure hope u r right for the tent campers but that would be an uncontrollable thing to do on their part. Every year SC gets people so confused. Wish the rules and prices were clairfied better. And then to moe them 300sf for only $100. Just sounds crazy and too good to be true.

Just keep your fingers crossed. Haha. See u at sc10

Kymery it says:

NEW FOR 2010: Spots are what is being sold. Each CAMP SPOT is HUGE - a 10x30 (300 square feet!!) spot on a beautiful serene grassy area offering quiet private surroundings. All camping amenities included. You can visit any of the other RV areas too. You can cram as many people into your tent as will fit. Each camper must have a festival ticket.

General camping spots are $100 each. (+ applicable charges).

I think Kitty is right. And so are you. That's insane. I'm doing RV!

Wow. Ok. But in my opinion that is asking for it when it comes to security. At wwf we had it that way for the RV people but with the caos sc had the past years I am shocked. Wish they would pass on some savings to the RV people. But seems we are picking up the costs by screwing people who show up later with truckloads of stuff And have to pay $150 to re enter. As I said lat year. Robbing from Peter to pay Paul !!

The page said "PER SITE"...but that is where it just seems crazy they would do that and let every Tom Dick and Harry into the campgrounds just cuz they have a festival ticket. Awesome price for the tenters though, just do not have anything valuable (which you shouldn't anyway) but even remotely valuable, sheesh not even food, if anyone can get into the camping areas.

again. there is a lot of text to be updated for the entire site for 2010 so some stuff from 2009 might have been caught lingering here and there on the more buried stuff.. its being corrected as it's pointed out.

The main things people should focus on right now is: the festival is over 6 months away.. more details will be added as we get closer. There will be more detailed map & other stuff. It's a little tougher to get ready when tickets go on sale so many months before but we will get it all up there still months in advance. thanks to everyone for their patience and calmness. :)

Kymery

Completely understand this, but since tickets go on sale next week, many of these questions need to be answered before tickets are purchased so we know what we are getting for our hard earned money. Would hate to buy a "ticket" and realize that I need 4 more, or 4 less etc...

Countrygurl
10-09-2009, 02:59 PM
the types of tickets for sale are set so I don't think you will need more.

all the detailed details people are asking is what I was referring to.

FYI - last year you couldn't get in to the tent camping area unless you paid for tent camping - they had different wristbands. They wouldn't let people from the RV lots into the tent forum, but tent campers were allowed to enter RV camping.

I still dont read anywhere how they plan to keep the campers (rv'ers) separated from the gen public. Has this been posted somewhere? As much of a pain it is to go through the insecurity, the benefit of weeding out the non campers is huge. Might as well save some money and not put up fences or security gaurds if they dont have some sort of separation. Im waiting to see how this pans out. There is no way it will work this way.

I wouldnt take any kid that cant be on their own (12+). This aint disneyland no matter where you go in or out of the festival. Its loud in ED1 and Louder in ED II. Put it this way... If i was your neighbor (5ft away) You wouldnt want me to come over and ask you to turn your music down and lower your voices while my kid naps, would you? Do yourself a favor and take a few days off from the kids. We use this as one of our few vacations from the baby (soon to be two of them) all year.

Completely agree...this is my concern. I feel I am gonna need to lock everything up, by that I mean, chairs, rugs, coolers, lanterns etc.. Always been "lucky" but how the hell are they gonna keep the RV'ers safe as can be. I mean, aren't we PAYING for that security with our chunk to camp there in the first place?

Do we still get IN/OUT privileges?

form what Ive been told by Countrygurl who seems to be the voice of stagecoach on hear basically tents people and RV people will all be able to go into each others areas this year and you will get your wristbands when you check in to your camping area you just need to tell them how many you need at the time you check in. You will still have in/out of concert privileges.

I have a feeling they're working the bugs out of the wristband issue for 2010. Anything will be an improvement over the hassles of years past. And I really doubt they will allow umlimited access to the camping areas to anyone with a concert ticket. Oh and yes, Countrygurl IS the official moderator of the message board.

But if that is true, then I can say I need 20 and still try to sell my extras, and I think...just think...that is what they are trying to avoid this year. They want all the profits, not for us to get any.

I didnt see me as getting a profit, but I was given 6 bands, and only needed 4 so recouped for two of them.

I just hope they get an answer to use BEFORE the tickets go on sale. Again, the tent passes were a huge blunder, people didnt know what to buy or not to buy then they sold out and people panicked that they couldnt get their group in to camp.

Countrygurl
10-12-2009, 09:15 PM
There doesn't really need to be any panic or worry for anyone. Tickets are going on sale friday at 10am and the main stuff to try and figure out for the time being is who's going and how many are you going to fit with you to camp if you even plan on camping at all, onsite. All the other details from what freeway routes you are taking to what kind of sandwiches to pack to how many pairs of shorts to bring and all the other stuff will come in the next 6 months. There's lots of time.

You need to buy festival tickets if you wish to go to the festival.

You need to buy an RV spot if you wish to camp in an RV. You know you get 20x50 rv spot so how crowded you make that is up to you.

Same type of planning for tent campers except those spots are 10x30.

:)

CountryGurl -- no need to answer, I know details come later, but the part that confuses me is "arriving together." I've driven the RV their in the morning, and my wife and friends come later. Then, my son always ends up having to work, and can't come until the last minute. I understand the need to have RVs that want to camp next to each other arrive together, but its more difficult with people. I hope the details that come later will clear that up.

Kymery
10-19-2009, 06:38 PM
Right, they are going to HAVE to allow people to arrive later and still get wristbands. How the heck does GV expect people to pay for their tickets if they dont have a job? Then many have kids in school, but cant make it till later. I have school too! (but I am ditching cuz I am the boss and I said so!)

OK, not knowing the details is making it difficult to make plans. My son and his few friends are thinking they need an RV site of their own so they can come in together since they can't stay Friday night like I want to do. They'll have to drive back and forth to Long Beach just to drop off the RV and then be all together so that they can be next to me. He isn't making any sense to me, but without details, I can't set him straight and figure out what camping tickets we need now. They can stay with me, but won't show up until Saturday morning.

if they are staying with you, they can arrive whenever they want....at least that is how it always has been, but if they have their own RV, and you want them next to you, then yes, they have to arrive WITH you to park next to you. Otherwise, they will get whatever spot is open when they arrive Saturday.

Hope that helps...I was a bit confused on what you are asking.

Thanks Kymery.. yes, he's confusing me too, but I can't point to anything official that says he can join me later, so he's working up all sorts of confusing options. He doesn't need to spend money on a camp site because he can stay with me (more money for beer) but he's saying its worth the cost of a camp site to him (shared with friends) to make sure he doesn't get locked out of the party.

My question is the same as UKNOWME: Do the people who are staying in our RV have to arrive with the RV to get the wristbands? Maybe I missed it somewhere along the thread, but didn't see a definitive answer!

We are going to purchase an RV site in ed1 or 2 (havent decided yet) and the website states "You may cram as many people into your RV as you like. Everyone camping in your RV must have a festival ticket." In our situation, we have people staying with us in our RV who come from different areas and will not be able to arrive at the same time as us. After the wristband debacle last year, I want to make sure all our ducks are in a row ahead of time, so I can enjoy the party too!!

Also, if our people are in fact able to arrive later and get wristbands to stay with us, will there be a place for their cars to park?

NOt sure if this parts been answered but if they are TENT camping then it's a separate part from the RV site. And you can't bring alcohol in the tent camping area. The RV site you can tent camp outside of the RV's. Does that clarify at all? I'm not sure what you're asking, sorry!

OK i have a question for Countrygurl i just reed "Bring your ticket to check into onsite camping. Wristbands will be issued at that time." I am arriving thursday night and the rest of my group is coming Friday night do i need to have there concert tickets with me when i check in? or are they going to be able to get there wristbands when they show up? or is there just more info to still be released?

soooooo anyone with a ticket automatically gets to come into the rv/tent camping area?

That is also my question.! Seems like caos is on the horizon. I am very worried about this. I dont want every Tom, Dick and Harry walking thru the campgrounds just cuz they have a festival ticket. Seems unfair and negates the option of camping and having only campers in the grounds. Poor security is gonna go postal with this one.

Nope..don't trust "everyone"!! Many people got ripped off last year in the grounds...and now that anyone can get it..it makes the odds even better!! (or should I say worse) Just saying.......and that's not to mention the personal attacks that happened. Just think it should be like it was and limited to who is camping..not who has a festival ticket.

AGAIN...many people bring family to watch their kids, or just cuz they can drive the RV and don't like/care for country...or can't afford it but go with the family to be with them. So not just limited to people that "have to go into the venue" Many people go to the lake and don't fish...or to glamis and don't go in a buggy or quad...but go for the fun of being with their family and let them do their fun on their own.

hears the problem Cooter people that camp usually have a common unspoken agreement / camping etiquette that most non campers don't quit always fallow for example if i left my cooler sitting out full of beer wide open 99.99% of people camping would just walk right buy and not touch it some might even close it for you so your ice doesn't melt but if i took the same cooler in to the festival if i could the cooler would be empty if i terned my back for for 1 min.

Amazing thing about campers...we leave about 50k in quads, tools, chairs, all camping gear, helmets etc etc at our camp spot...and never have we had anything stolen. Yes people get quads ripped off cuz there are always a few bad apples, but considering I have been camping for "40 summmpin" years...thats is pretty damn good.

I will say, I got a pair of Gucci glasses returned to me a week later and my cell phone returned the next day...so I thank those wonderful people!! But I know this is gonna be a cluster this year if they let anyone in. I thought paying for my camping spot gave me some security with it.

Weird though, about a week later I received a call at work (in Orange) from a policeman telling me that someone gave him my purse while he was at a shooting range in Orange. Our first year (two years ago) at SC there was only 3 of us and we hadn't branched out to meet all of y'all nice people yet. We had fallen asleep the first night in the tents and I awoke to someone rifling through our cooler and food that was put away, stashed under our table. KC, you have some serious issues if you are still dwelling on events from last year. I might add you were a major contributor to the drama. In my opinion you lost your window of opportunity to spew your venom when you failed to act like an adult with honor and integrity when approached during and after Stagecoach 2009. Shirts? um, you got your tank top, and you wore it. Not sure what shit you are trying to stir up there, but I'm not playing your game. You were also sent $50cash, registered mail, I might add, for your "extra" wristband. No checks were ever sent.
