We are also having an rv dropped off for us and there will be a group of us meeting there with separate cars. If I'm reading the campsite page correctly, we can park our cars in the FREE Tow Vehicle Parking Lot :)

From the Camping Page:

Types of Tickets for EL DORADO 1
$750 (+ applicable charges) - Includes one 20x50 RV space (1 steering wheel), 30amp electrical and camping amenities. This package includes up to 8 camping passes (people camping passes) which will be distributed at time of check in.
$850 (+ applicable charges) - Includes one 20x50 RV space (1 steering wheel), 50amp electrical and camping amenities. This package includes up to 8 camping passes (people camping passes) which will be distributed at time of check in.
$50 (+ applicable charges) - Additional RV People Pass. Additional RV People Pass (For extra people who later want to join you in onsite camping)
$100 (+ applicable charges) - Extra car - If you are TOWING an extra CAR BEHIND your RV and wish to park it with in your 20x50 RV spot....* You don't need this if you park your extra car in the Free Tow Vehicle Parking Lot.

So you only need the tow pass if you plan to keep your vehicle with you at your rv spot.
Hope that helps :)

Yeah, I think that is true...

Just park that car in the free lot. Cuz I think the only vehicle you get in with the original camping ticket is the one that "pulls in the trailer" or the motorhome itself. A tow vehicle is basically like the ones the motorhomes tow behind their rigs...as an extra vehicle to drive around.

Hi Mahea... thanks for the info...yup we're doing the same thing. Looks like a Thursday delivery for us, and I think we'll meet the delivery crew out there. This is going to take some planning and making sure we pack everything we need. But with several girls, and good checklists we'll be good to go. (We'll have to touch base again..btw, are you using Albert's or El Monte RV ?)

We decided to go with Albert's, so we will have a Thursday delivery too :) I am too excited!! I don't get off work until 5pm (we only live about an hour away) so I will see you there too :D

Last year we had my father in law drop of his fifth wheel for us and we went with him and we asked aboout being able to bring our vehicle in on friday morning and park it in front of the fifth wheel and the staff members assured us no problem...Yeah that was not what happened, first of all we had to wait in a 1 and 1/2 hour line and then to be told no you cannot go in and park, there are no in and outs of your vehicle but a staff member said walk in go get your sticker off the fifth wheel and we will let you in just this once.
Park your vehicle in the free tow lot so that if you need to go to the store or anything. Just easier and all around less hassle and you won't have to be like us and wait an hour and a half to get to your trailer that is already there :)

Thanks for the info Lizzy :)

I'm wondering if they will allow us to bring our vehicles in to unload our things and then park them in the free tow parking lot? We are still trying to co-ordinate with the RV people if we can load our things before they drop off the RV at our spot or if we have to haul everything from the tow parking lot or if we can just drive our vehicles in, unload and then park them in the tow parking lot. Decisions, decisions lol.

gosh, you and I are on the same page. I was wondering the same thing. Talked to Bert yesterday, asked a few of the same questions. he's a really nice guy, too. He will also be doing Coachella rentals. Don't think we'll be able to pre load the trailers, so I'm thinking we'll bring our cars to the location and unload, then move to the tow parking lot. Perhaps closer to SC weekend I'll have my questions organized, and he'll have a better idea of his drop off plan.

Coachella doesn't allow rv's or trailers. How is he doing those? Or did they change the camping rules?

I don't know if you will be able to pull in and load up with your vehicle later but if you are able to you might be in line for a very long time like I was

Wow, I didn't know you could rent an RV and have it dropped off! Just out of curiosity what do they charge for that? Maybe we'll do that next year.

My husband made the reservations and for some reason he forgot to ask what the delivery charge would be.

When we inquired about 3 nights with a travel trailer and delivery and pick up to Indio, they told us $400.

They have travel trailers that range in price from I believe $95 to $150 a night. I think this place has a much better deal than Cruise America and El Monte RV. With those places there's the hassle of picking up the RV & dropping it off and the added charges of insurance and mileage.
