A lot of my family is going to be in Las Vegas starting the weekend of Stagecoach. I was thinking of leaving on Sunday and heading to Las Vegas and wondering how long it will take. According to YahooMaps, there isn't one direct route. Suggestions?

Thanks,
Marlena

Yep, 10-15 is the best route...there is a back way, but very lonely and just as long as a drive. Better safe than sorry.

Marlena,
I live right near the 10 and 15, it takes 3 1/2 to 4 hours from there at about 75 mph. Indio is about 1 hour further, so you're probably looking at about 4 1/2 to 5 hours. Interstate 10 West to Interstate 15 North is the best way, any other way will be on 2 lane desert roads.

Good Luck!!

I always go the desert way, the 10 to desert center, desert center to vidal, vidal to needles, I 40 in needles to the 95 exit and straight to vegas. 4 hours 80+ mph all the way

Lizzy, I"m sure you're right it's probably a little shorter, but for a girl to travel at night and not know the route I figured it would be safer to go on the freeway.

Yeah, this is a good/shorter route but as I mentioned, not as safe...very desolate.(sp) until you hit needles.
