Ok, Edy, here's the thread you suggested!! Seems like there are Jimmy Buffet fans that will be going to his upcoming shows, then there are ones like me that have never been, but he's been on my "must see" list for years. ok, I'm out of the closet now!

Im in for Irvine May 21... Gives me all memorial day weekend to recover and clean the RV (ie. sticky floors from spilled sweat'n'sour, shishkibob skewers in all the wrong places, crusty half filled BBQ Pork crock pot, and tossing the collection of stupid a$$ import beers and wine coolers that end up in my ice chest from random people...)
Ill be in the parking lot as soon as they let me. I welcome anyone to party with us and throw whatever you want on the grill. Does anyone know when they open the parking lot?

oh my gosh.. I can see the RV now... what a nice host you are to allow all the parrot heads a place to party! uh oh, import beer? gotta have my Corona "import", with lime and salt.
Count me in...we'll keep in touch, too.
ha ha, you're already trying to figure out what time the gates open up?? lol...we need to get through stagecoach first.

The Vegas one is May 16 and I'll be there too. It will be my first Jimmy show. Then I'll be at Irvine with the rest of you all. My friends put me in charge of jello shots. =)

You really should contact Kris & Richard because I think they are going to both Irvine & Vegas for his shows.

I'm seeing lawn seats for sale, I'm sure the lawn would be a hoot, but I think I prefer a seat... still wondering if there may be a special promo closer to the date. Doesn't look sold out yet, but I can tell whcih tickets belong to the scalpers. Maybe the guy selling one seat for like $850.. wasn't even a pit seat !! So I'm wondering those that have still to buy tickets... lawn or assigned seat??

Just think how good the luke warm $12 light beer will taste after that long uphill elbow rubbing, belly bumping hike when you finally get to sit so comfortably in beer soked lawn (grass/mud) and watch the concert a 1/4 mile away on the jumbo screen.
Dont worry thats all I can afford too! Damit

ahh....ya think that $12 dollar beer will even be in the cup after that hike ?? with the splishing and splashing elbow knocking up the hill?? not a chance. I'd be better off chugging it at the snack bar. Oh and you think that was beer that soaked that lawn??? ha ha..i doubt that too..!!

ha ha.. that's what I said too!...those "lawn people" won't leave their spot to go find a bathroom...not when they have a perfectly good patch of grass beneath their feet. Think I'll pay for a seat. Edy, We'll find a good deal...oh and hankdog and his wife may find tickets too..

I called Verizon Amphatheatre to ask when the parking opens (5pm) and about the RV parking. The guy told me right now the Irvine police wont allow RV's or Tour busses but that Jimmy Buffets "people" are working out permit issues to let us in. I really hope they work something out cuz last time we were tailgating it would have been WAY more fun to have a RV, especially with a bathroom and being able to stuff 20 people in it. If not we are bringing a big a$$ truck with all our stuff in it.
I will keep you posted about the parking when i know more.

Even worse than the hike up is trying to get out after the show. It's a massive bottleneck and lawn people are in the way back.
Plus, if you've never sat in the lawn at Irvine it's more like a HILL with grass on it. It's rather steep, I wonder how often drunks fall down teh hill. lol The lawn seats at Blockbuster are sooo much better.
I've never seen Buffet but have always wanted to. I'm going to have to look into getting tix. Might be worth going just for the tailgating even if I end up with crappy seats.

ha ha a big a$$ truck?? what a hoot...kind of like a big open air hay wagon?? this sounds like a fun event to lift our spirits after Stagecoach, and will have given us enough time to "dry out" after SC.

Kris & Richard have "PARRIOT HEAD UNIVERSITY" on the back of their car. So they will be going to both concerts. I told them you all can talk and make hook-up arrangements when we all see each other again on Friday at LBT/ZZB concert.

Oh Yeah... We are going for sure!
Just got off the phone with the Irvine Meadows box office... They ARE allowing RV and bus parking (which they previously said they might not) and the parking lot will open up at 3pm! You might want to check for yourself before you go so if anything changes you dont string me up for posting this. Bringing the whole set up, but not sure exactly what time we are going. I want to get there when they open but that means getting all my looser friends to the house by 2pm which will be hard to do to say the least.

looks like they're available on ticketmaster, (pricey, plus fees) for the "fancy" seats..I did see plenty on ebay, marginal mark up. I'm looking to buy 3 tickets, not lawn seating so I'm keeping my eyes open for tickets on sale. wondering if there will be tickets available closer to the concert date.

All of a sudden I've started to dislike Jimmy Buffet. I hate performers who price gouge their fans. The price of one Buffet ticket ends up costing 50% more than a ticket to SC. And costs half as much as a GOLD CIRCLE ticket to CMA Fest.
Screw him.

I think that's why I haven't been to his other concerts. Same thing.. expensive tickets. I really do not want lawn seats either. Do you think we can hear him in the parking lot if we just party in the parking lot and never go in? looks like the parking lot will be party zone too.

if scalpers are going to buy tickets cheap and sell them for ridiculous prices then i would rather have the artist charge more so they get the actual money, though, hopefully pricing out many of the low end scalpers.
the other problem is that people are willing to pay the high face value prices. if anything, some blame goes to them for allowing an artist to charge so much.
